Homeless Man Arrested For Allegedly Raping Philadelphia Girl, Police Say

A 34-year-old man experiencing homelessness has been charged in connection with the sexual assault of a teenage girl in Philadelphia, police announced on Friday, Nov. 8, 2024.

Derrick Henry was arrested at 9:30 a.m. while receiving treatment at Temple University Hospital for an unrelated issue, authorities said.

The charges stem from an incident that occurred on Saturday, Nov. 2, at approximately 1:20 a.m., when Henry allegedly sexually assaulted a 15-year-old girl on the 800 block of Chestnut Street, according to the Special Victims Unit handling the case.

Henry faces multiple charges, including rape, sexual assault, endangering the welfare of a child, and related offenses, police said.

A mugshot of Henry was not available at the time of publishing.

The investigation remains ongoing, and no further details were released as of Friday afternoon.
